A week in the life…of a Yankee

On October 9th My sweet friend
434
Stacey Boshell and I
will set out to embark on yet, another adventure!

This time, we are headed North.
Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine, New Hampshire, and Stowe, Vermont to be exact.
We are declaring it my 25th Birthday week Celebration, and I could not be any more excited!

This time we are dragging along
grace anne
Grace Anne!
She is really excited, but definitely contemplates things more than I do. I tend to make an educated decision and stick with it. She thinks about things a little longer,  so  I stress her out a little…in a good wayWinking smile
She is also my friend that is going to Hawaii with me, should we land a job.
We balance each other out well I think.
But she probably has no idea what she is in for!

We have a tentative plan, but no set schedule
We are flying in to Portland, Maine and staying overnight. We will get up the next morning and drive up the coast to Bar Harbor
and enjoy the scenery and make whatever stops we wish to make along the way

In Bar harbor we are going to go Whale and puffin watching and see what else we can get into

OH! and let’s not forget…eat some lobster!

Bon appetit!

We will then drive thru New Hampshire, and maybe stay a night there…then drive on into Stowe, Vermont and stay there a couple nights before heading back to Portland to fly back home
We have a lot of options of things to do and see, but want to play it by ear. We don’t want to have a set itinerary
We just want to do things like site-see, and hike and bike and enjoy the scenery and fall weather.
Because after all, Fall is my MOST FAVORITE time of year!

This one’s for you, Boshell!

Plane tickets are purchased, So now it’s a month of waiting and excited anticipationSurprised smile

SO stay tuned! I hope to take my computer and blog about our adventures along the way, should time allow. But we shall see!
Hope everyone’s week is great so far! I’m super tired from working extra, but gotta make that moolah for my trip, so all in all it’s totally worth it!

Hips Don't Lie

Most of you have heard of living social. If not, you should check it out. It is a website that sends one daily email of 'deals' that local places around the area you live in are running.

This past week I called my friend, Autumn, at work
(pictured on the left)

and asked how she felt about taking dance classes.
The deal for the day was to buy 6 dance classes for $12 (originally a $60 value)
then you choose to learn Latin, ballroom, swing, or line dancing.

Several of our other friends also bought the voucher.
We bought 2, so that we can learn two types.

Tonight is our 1st class, and according to the title of this post you may have guessed it, but we are learning Latin!

We are both so excited! and neither one of us have rhythm... so it should make for an interesting evening, but nevertheless I feel confident it will be fun!

Day 2 of bootcamp is tonight... I hope I'm able to walk in the morning with this sudden rush of physical activity my body has not been used to in 3 1/2 months :0/

Hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC week so far!
Tomorrow is FrIdAy :0)

Never too old for Dress Up

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was so much fun and most of all relaxing!
Life has seemed so crazy busy lately...I needed a weekend like this

I headed to Nashville Friday morning and arrived in time to meet my friend Steph at Anna's School play that she was a part of. I only made it to half of it, because apparently  I have issues turning when my GPS tells me to. Instead I stare at the arrow and watch it leave the blue line as I drive past where I should be turning. Regular occurrence...Can't seem to overcome it :0/

They did a Charlotte's Web play and it was really cute! The kids did a great job!

That evening, Steph and Charles headed off to see a play and spend the night downtown.
The girls and I (Anna and Emily) had planned to see a movie...but there really wasn't anything playing that we wanted to see.

So option B was....Shopping!

We had so much fun!
For the most part we just browsed and played dress up in various stores

we did have a goal to find Emily a swimsuit. We had a pool party to go to on Saturday so we needed a swimsuit and Birthday Present. Birthday present wasn't hard to find at all...but the perfect swimsuit took a little while longer.

This was not the winner, but it did come in close second...
JK... I love her too much to let her even think about wearing something like that ;0)

The swimsuit she ended up with was super cute though, AND I was able to locate a 40% coupon on my phone! gotta love a good deal!

I may have purchased a dress also that they convinced me I needed, because it looked "adorable" me.
They are great for your ego.... but if you want to save money... not so much!
JK . I love the dress I got.

We shopped til' we dropped and then paid a visit to redbox

All the ingredients to a great movie night ;0)

Movie of choice: "You Again"
really cute movie!

We had so much fun together. I have known them since they were little bitty. Anna is now 9, and Em is 12. Conversations are no longer about High School Musical and playing "babies". But about Justin Beiber, their most recent crush, whether or not their "mascara is running down their face", and why "the weird boy " is texting them. However, you are never too old to play dress up!

I made them pancakes Saturday Morning

and then we headed to the lake for a few hours

the Water was FREEZING, but the weather was beautiful!

We made mermaids...

and sand castles...
(I know you are thinking "wow this is the best Sand Castle I've ever seen" just email me, and I give you the steps to making your very own ;0)

and just enjoyed being in the sun!

We finished the day with a pool party, grilling, and scary movies

I had to request the presence of two little girls in order for me to sleep, but was able to fall asleep without too much trouble!

If you like scary movies ( I love them, but just have to be careful about what I watch since I moved out...I freak myself out) "The Resident" and "The Roomate" are two good movies.

I finished up the weekend with visiting their church on Sunday morning, and heading home after lunch.

Big thanks to the Wise family for such and enjoyable weekend!
Love you and thankful for the time we got to spend together :0)

Missed My Calling?

I Love being a nurse...but perhaps I should have pursued a career in designing clothes made from toilet paper?

Confused???
Let me back up... last night we had my friend Stefani's lingerie shower

One of the games we played was to divide into groups and each group had to design a wedding dress with a roll of toilet paper.

We were in groups of 3. One person was the model. The other 2 made the dress.
I was the designer for our team. It was a lot of fun!

We chose to do a mermaid, one shoulder dress with a fingertip length veil
Oh so Chic! :0)

Autumn's bridesmaids did not have her best interest in mind ;0)

picture was kinda dark
Stefani was the judge...who will the winner be???

our team!!!!
(everything kinda blends in, so you can't see the very intricate bow ;0)

back view

I suppose I'll stick to nursing...
But to all you ladies getting married, Don't stress... I will do some work on the side.
I know you just threw out all those "ear  marked" Vera Wang dresses you had your eye on,
as they don't even hold a candle to this masterpiece ;0)
Just contact me... They are custom made to size!

I'm not going to post all of Stef's undies all over the internet, but I personally think these will be Chase's favorite!

We also each had to write a line of a poem, to which we could only see the line that was written before the one we were to write. Stef chose the line she like best, and whoever it went with won a prize.

She chose...
"Do not place a glass pan on a hot eye of a stove, it will explode"

That was my line
It really happens...true story

I won these cute earrings!

Fun night with the girls!
Congrats Stefani!
So excited for you :0)
